Covenant #1
The Pin-Seekers is an invitation only Golf Group open to Tiger Point Golf Club Members who meet the criteria of: (1) honesty; (2) integrity; (3) an understanding of USGA Golf Rules;
(4) a good sense of humor; (5) a team player, (6) a member of the USGA’s GHIN System, and (6) who can play to a maximum handicap of 18.
Members who joined the Pin-Seekers prior to January 1, 2026, and were not members of Tiger Point at the time, or have since left Tiger Point are grandfathered in, with the possible exception of Covenant #4 .
Covenant #2
You must be a member of the USGA GHIN System as handicaps are determined by the GHIN System and the courses we play. It is also preferred that your annual GHIN membership be purchased from a Florida Golf Club and not via the Internet, e.g., the USGA/Florida GC.
Covenant #3
Communication is always by email, so please check yours often as no one will follow up with you, snooze and you lose. An occasional text may be used due to weather conditions or urgency,
Covenant #4
Our play day is Thursday of every week. You will receive a game invite one week in advance, typically following a Thursday game. You do not have to play every week, however you must indicate if you are playing or not by responding IN or OUT to the weekly play request no later than Tuesday, by 3:00 p.m. of the following week. You will receive a response indicating that you have signed up or not, and if you SIGN UP, you’re expected to SHOW UP as dropping out at the last minute requires major re-work to reshuffle teams, recalculate payoffs, create a new game sheet, etc.
Of the fifty-two weeks available to play every year, you are encouraged to play at least eight times a year or risk your Pin-Seeker membership.
Covenant #5
The Thursday entry fee is $20 unless we decide to change it. Players are asked to bring their entry fee in $10s, $5s and $1s to help facilitate payouts. The entry fee is due before tee off and will be collected by the lowest handicapper of your team, typically the captain.
Covenant #6
We play by the current year’s USGA Rules of Golf, including local club rules if applicable. The ball is played as it lies, i.e., there are no gimme putts regardless of length, there is no rolling of the ball anywhere, no moving the ball in sand trap footprints or on tree roots. Let the USGA Rules of Golf and common sense be your guide. Consult playing partners if in doubt.
Covenant #7
We will typically play with an even number of players to facilitate team events; however, an occasional individual game may be played. Game formats will vary with the objectives of:
(1) mixing players together so they can play with different guys every week; (2) equalizing total team handicaps; and (3) leveling the playing field for fairness to all. You will also be required to commit to a given tee box at the start of every quarter, Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4. i.e., no changing of tee boxes.
Covenant #8
We play TEAM GAMES, so always think TEAM. All groups who finish the round will compete for the prize money. Consult with your and other Teams before you decide to quit during the round as the following applies:
(1) If a team decides to quit during the round, while the other teams continue to play, their entry fee is still due and forfeited.
(2) If a player decides to quit during the round, his entry fee is still due and forfeited, and his teammates will continue to play by the rules of the match but may get a draw depending upon the circumstances.
(3) A minimum of four players is required for a sanctioned Pin-Seeker game.
Covenant #9
If a match is tied by first and second place, the money will be split, there is no hole-by-hole playoff.
Covenant #10
We pay for close ups, birdies, eagles, and low net as part of the game. For closeups on Par 3s, the player must mark his ball to win. There will be no carryover money for the following week.
